*Steps to Create a Graph


1. Create a graph is an easy way to make a graph. First, select the type of graph you need. If you are unsure of the type of graph you want, read the "How Do I choose Which Graph to Use" section of the tutorial. For more help about this step, click on the "Help" icon.

2. Choose the direction, shape, size, and style of your graph. Each graph will have different settings to chose from.

3. Label and title the graph, then enter all your information. If you are not sure which information to put where, again, read the help menu found on the side of the page.

4. Customize labels and choose a font.

5. Preview your graph before you save or print it.

  • On the left side of the window, there is a tab labeled "Help" and "Examples." For each step, this gives you the process for the step as well as examples to guide you.
  • There is also a tutorial link which helps you know what to do at each step. It also provides links on the left side of the page that give you definitions and different tutorials on each type of graph. (You may also print this tutorial.)
  • If you need to stop and revisit the graph later, at the bottom, there is a link for bookmarking the page with your information. Another way to revisit the graph later is to email yourself the graph. This link is found in the same area as the bookmark link.

  • Teachers may use this tool for teaching by opening on the smartboard or projector
  • Students can use this for presentations and easy graphing
